Apple Puts Lala Music Service to Work (PC World)

PC World – Apple has put to use its acquisition of the Lala service from late last year, now allowing 30-second song previews in the Web-based version of the iTunes Charts. The quietly-launched feature completes the experience of the iTunes Web preview, initially launched in November 2009.

PC World – Lala might’ve been the biggest threat to Apple’s iTunes with its free full-song previews and unlimited streaming for ten cents per track, but not anymore. Apple has confirmed reports that it will gobble up Lala, but won’t say how much it paid or what it will do with the startup’s services

Bing Gets Wolfram Alpha, Facebook Integration in Update (PC World)

PC World – Microsoft’s Bing is stepping up its assault on Google with bevy of new features available Wednesday that include the addition of Wolfram Alpha search results, enhanced previews of Web sites within results, improved presentation of weather forecasts, and limited Facebook integration.
